Air-fryers use hot air instead of oil, so are healthier than deep-fat fryers, and more versatile and energy efficient for cooking smaller quantities than ovens. Unlike some of our other bowl or drawer options, this one is most similar to your everyday oven, with a box-like shape and a large front window, making it best for meats rather than stews or one-pot wonders. Instead, it performs really well and our expert reviewer Helen had no complaints about the cooking speed or performance, and with four cooking functions, it’s versatile too.

Our reviewer thought the build quality of this Zwilling pick was second to none, and that the cleaning process kept things very low maintenance too. To cut the fat content even further, you can apply a low-cal cooking spray directly to food before placing it into your air fryer.Although we struggled to find any real need for the app (setting the air-fryer to go takes very little time), it is useful to be able to check how much time is left from afar and for the bank of Cosori recipes it houses. Despite the limited capacity, it was able to air fry our (somewhat crammed-in) chips evenly, and we are more than a little obsessed with the lovely colour. Our only real gripes are the control panel and grill tray, the former of which has shiny plastic that can mark easily if you're cooking with greasy fingerprints, whilst the latter has rubber feet that can attract grease very easily, and be a bit tiresome to clean.
