I always feel so powerful after each time I listen to this album, it never fails to give me a huge energy boost for the day whenever I need it. Nice to have in the collection, but might find it's way back on the trade block as I listen to vinyl for room filling, soul touching sound.

You'd think a combination like Chris Cornell and Rage Against the Machine would produce nothing but glory, but Cornell was really against Audioslave being overtly political. The backing instrumentals tend to be pretty solid too, with a lot of big guitars on the heavier tracks and some more pleasant light instrumentals on the slower ones.As a mainstream rock release there are quite a few guilty, overproduced, pop-like bops you can find on here. Kind Of Blue is one of those works that as good as defines its genre, and in many ways it feels peculiar to play it on anything other than vinyl. Now with a massively successful US tour opening for sweet soul darlings Thee Sacred Souls behind him, 2023 is sure to be a propitious year for Daptone's newest signee. Strange, Leon Vynehall's name springing to mind when compiling this list; his inclusion, though, is about more than some half-baked homonym.A standout track of the 2021 mix, Across The Universe, is almost completely new with how clean and spacious it sounds, and claws back a lot of the more distorted, low-fi charm of the track’s earlier mixes.
