About this deal
My nose is not being assaulted by the kiwi, and the gourmand notes are already peaking through, too. I can see why people might see a resemblance but as someone else noted, this one doesn't have the shampoo-y aspect and It's more vanilla forward rather than fruity. Overall I would say, if you think you have outgrown the original Fantasy, this one might be for you.
It smells the best to me an hour after application after the sweet fruit has settled and the white choc and vanilla cupcake accords start coming through. You can tell it has the DNA of the original Fantasy, but when I say original, I mean the new reformulated version. I spray it on my arm, the first thing that comes to greet me is citrusy note, kind of fresh and clean, evaporates quickly.
However cynical it might sound to fragrance iconoclasts, there have been some truly wonderful celebrity perfumes made through this combination of fame and fragrance Britney Spears Perfumes: Which Is Best? This is literally Coco Mademoiselle meets Fantasy because of the citrus and the patchouli base at first. Island Fantasy is ten times better than this, strong and lasting, I absolutely love that and Midnight Fantasy (my favorite Fantasy).
Love the plum with the Madonna lily, it to me is a britneyfied The One, only this is sugared up quite a bit but they share that summer skin air about them. If they overdid it on the patchouli this might not have gone as well, but instead they added just a bit and it's a perfect touch. The drydown is still sweet but with an added powdery/woodsy aroma that lends maturity to the overall scent. The patchouli does come through quite prominently which gives it a slight masculine feel near to the dry down. I would say its a blend of Fantasy and Midnight, but doesnt have the strong plum fruity overtone like Midnight.
