Far From Saints sees Kelly Jones from the Stereophonics team up with Patty Lynn and Dwight Baker of The Wind and The Wave to present an album that successfully freewheels through genres from country to folk with an additional touch of Americana. Their self-titled debut album was written and produced by the band and mixed by Grammy-nominated Al Clay (Blur, Pixies).

The band presented a new creative opportunity for the Stereophonics frontman, collaborating on songwriting and sharing vocal duties. His full length debut on Daptone Records is equal parts raw feeling and elegance and exudes confidence and charm.Fiona Shepherd of The Scotsman wrote that Far from Saints provides "ample opportunities for harmonies and Americana flavours" and the trio's debut album "plays out exactly as you might expect with a mix of country balladry, southern soul inflections, winsome vanilla pop, orchestral embellishments and the acoustic roots rock which best suits Jones's raspy voice". Far From Saints are Kelly Jones of Stereophonics with Austin’s Patty Lynn and Dwight Baker of The Wind and The Wave, together they have co-written an album evoking a cross-genre sound spanning country, rock, folk, and Americana. After the release of their fourth LP, 2019’s brilliant Your Church On My Bonfire, PAWS slowly slipped out of sight. While it was created remarkably quickly, it also took years to be unveiled after the pandemic left them an ocean apart.They received a rapturous reception at their sold-out headline show at EartH Theatre, hit the Glastonbury and Black Deer festivals, played stadiums with Kings of Leon, a Teenage Cancer Trust benefit with Roger Daltrey, and major outdoor shows with Paul Weller and Incubus. Comprised of various labels we know and love at Rough Trade (Bella Union, ATO, Speedy Wunderground, Phantasy, Heavenly, Mute and more) PIAS [Recordings] filter through some of the most diverse artistry to our racks, which we greatly enjoy digging into. The country influences are immediately evident in the opener, “Screaming Hallelujah,” with finger-picked acoustic guitar offering a warm welcome to the album.

Now with a massively successful US tour opening for sweet soul darlings Thee Sacred Souls behind him, 2023 is sure to be a propitious year for Daptone's newest signee. Taking in elements of country, rock, folk, soul, and Americana, it is a remarkable collection of expertly crafted songs that touch on themes of love, perseverance, self-doubt, and self-healing.They booked recording sessions, one at the end of each leg of the tour and completed the entire album in just nine days. Far From Saints have a host of festival dates throughout the summer, including Glastonbury and Latitude. Today sees Far From Saints share their debut track ‘Let’s Turn This Back Around’ along with the song’s official video directed by Kelly Jones.
