About this deal
A section at the back explains that, in reality, the fight against the 'giants' isn't over and explains how you can help Greta in her fight. I love how so many children’s books these days are taking social and political issues and making them really accessible for kids.
I was very happy to receive this Arc from Quarto Publishing Group - Frances Lincoln Childrens as I had been anticipating to read this books, as well s more about Greta and her story.
This book shows how climate change is effecting the world in a way for kids to understand and gives idea on how to help slow the progression of climate change. This story about a young teenager out to save the trees that house many animals she does all she can do to protect the animals but the trees are slowly vanishing and the cities are taking over where the animals once lived. It just would have just been nice to see "reality" represented here a bit more, in what's otherwise a great, informative, maybe even life-changing addition to any child's picture book library.
At the back of the book, there is information about the real Greta Thunberg and information about Climate Change.
The houses grew into towns, and the towns grew into cities until now there is hardly any forest left. The story is that giants are ruining the planet and the text reads: “no one told them to stop because everyone was scared of them.
