Hi Sarita, this is a good point and it’s tricky to find a waterproof lining that doesn’t contain plastic. Any kind of metal in wood will cause damage and allow wet to enter – but in my experience glue doesn’t hold the liner in place. Important: The opening measurement of the decorative pot is the size of the access hole for inserting the plant's grow pot as well as an indication of the minimum liner size needed.For example, if you are using a piece of burlap, place it within the planter and mark where the burlap extends beyond the rim of the planter. I used decking oil (I applied it before adding the liner) as I had some left over from oiling the decking.
