About this deal
The same goes for the brilliant Brenda Fricker, for Aneurin Barnard, Poppy Gilbert, Cathy Belton: it is a great cast. In his 1st person narrative, Ryan describes Blackden Moor as “his” area and it emerged that he lured Ed to an ambush, having found a GPS tracker in his back-pack. Aneurin is also a singer and had the lead role in the West End production of hit musical Spring Awakening and starred in the musical film Hunky Dory.
Watkins said: "I’ve always loved thrillers on screen and The Catch has all the ingredients to keep audiences hooked. The story was mostly told from his perspective which would've been interesting if he had at least an iota of intelligence. But Ed can't help but think that Ryan is just too good to be true and he gets a horrible feeling about him.
Abbie ended his life with Ed's knife (probably a way of saying Ed defeated him from his grave or Ryan took the souvenir… but it took him).
In The Catch book ending Abbie finds documents that a private detective had found for Ed which include newspaper articles about Ryan’s past. At the Mail I became the paper’s Science Reporter, covering all kinds of stories from new technology to the environment, space, genetics, health and medicine. Despite being filmed in Ireland, The Catch is actually set against the coastline of the west of England - although an exact location isn't revealed.
It is far from being predictable and has so many twists and turns you will feel like you are on a never ending roller coaster.
