About this deal
The Zerostat 3 includes a dual cycle operation: when the trigger is squeezed, positive ions are released, when the trigger is released, negative ions are generated. It’s an old topic, but having had this problem myself, I will add my comments for anyone else finding this page.

I know of some people that have mold problems due to poor quality installation and water condenses on the OUTSIDE of the duct when the air conditioner is on. While everyone will benefit from a Zerostat, some people will see greater value for money if they live in a house with drying air or if their listening room is in a bedroom environment where dust is prevalent. Is there a solution to the fact that my TT, with an acrylic platter, cannot accommodate both an anti-static mat and a record clamp? I can tell because, if I lift the record from the platter immediately after cleaning, I can feel the static attraction between the platter and record and I can hear the charge being discharged.

You don't want it set up so that it's always sending moist air into the ducts in a situation where it can condense inside the duct.I got the record clean with my cleaner but the static made the record sound so bad it was unplayable and the Cork slip mat would stick to it! So although perceived static is temporarily discharged, it will come up again later as soon as the record (insulator) is placed in contact with, then separated from another surface.
